fresh&easy goes to hollywood
We had great fun opening our store on Hollywood Boulevard this week: CurbedLA captured it really well ... and no, we didn't hire the Jack Sparrow lookalike, he just turned up!
However, it's hardly time to Relax.
Hollywood is one of 8 stores we opened in the last 2 weeks, and we have another 16 to open by the end of February. It is of course an iconic location for us, but when you look at the variety of neighborhoods these stores are opening in (including a newly built store at Central & Rosecrans in Compton, opening Feb 7th ) , it does demonstrate what we're trying to do.
Right back at the start when we went into people's homes, we found a common desire for fresh, wholesome food that's affordable and available in their neighborhood. So we developed fresh&easy neighborhood market to deliver just that. Simple.
Will we be successful?
To be honest, it's to soon to tell: we only opened our first stores in November. But we've had good feedback from customers so far, and perhaps most significantly, they're coming from all walks of life.
Of course, in the end, it will be their decision, voting with their feet. For the moment, with 16 stores looming, we're just going to it...

Simon,
I am excitedly awaiting the opening of our store in San Carlos area of San Diego.
I had a chance to check out the Hemet store last year and enjoy some food with my wife from the Las Vegas store last month.
Focused on eating healthy your store will be a great addition to our neighborhood.
We will vote with our feet soon.
Sincerely,

Are you planning to open a store in Folsom? Is your produce organic and do you hold cooking classes etc?
Wish you all the best!
I am so excited about the Fresh and Easy concept. In my home fresh and easy is my mantra. I have to feel good about what I'm feeding my family but I've spent the last 5 years with the world's worst kitchen! So EASY has been the key. We're relocating to the East Valley area of the Phoenix valley soon and I can't wait to make Fresh and Easy a part of my weekly routine!
Oh if only you were coming to Spokane, WA!!! My sister lives in the Phoenix area and told me about your store. There are so few options up here for organic, fresh food. Hope you are successful and have plans to expand!
Is it true that your stores will have Long Stemmed Roses for $9.99 a dozen for Valentine's Day? I heard about it in the West Covina store and can't believe it's true. I guess I can afford 2-3 dozen this year for my wife.
Thanks.
THEY WONT LAST
