food for thought at fresh & easy

One of our core beliefs is that everyone deserves access to fresh, wholesome food that they can afford.

So we're always pleased to hear from our customers on how we’ve helped them with this.

For example, Kevin writes about his constant quest to find healthy foods for his family on Web Goonies. We’re delighted our stores could help, as he writes in Fresh & Easy Indeed. Incidentally, it’s also worth a look at Web Goonies’ healthy recipe for apple nachos …a snack that both parents and kids can probably agree on…

We simply think that food should be fresh, and not mucked around with - that's why all our own brand products have no artificial colors or flavors, and only use preservatives when absolutely necessary. Perfect for family cooks like Rookie Cookie, who enjoy making their own recipes and meals from high-quality items.

Of course, developing products and selecting assortments is all about listening to customers. So it’s really helpful when Moms like HazelEyesSue offer reviews of our products, or customers like Shelly give a top ten list of her favorite products and qualities about our stores.

Please keep letting us know what you think of our products and our stores. That way we can continue to make our shopping trip better and better for you.

And that, as ever, is how it should be.....

Thanks for the mention! I am loving Fresh and Easy and I am hoping you guys build one closer to me!

So far, my favorite product is the mango lemonade. Oh, and the mint chocolate sandwich cookies. Also, the orchard crunch cereal. I guess I can't just pick one!

I'm writing because I just can't say enough about how much I love Fresh and Easy!

I'm a Mom of two kids and I try really hard to feed them (and my husband and myself) healthy, but fun foods. I'm one of those people that is terribly afraid of the effects that preservatives, artificial colors, sugar substitutes, etc. will have on our future health.

Here are reasons that I really love F&E.

#1. F&E's brands all center around no preservatives and artificial colors. They all taste great and are cheaper than any branded products. One of my kids favorites are the F&E chocolate chip cookies. Bigger chocolate chunks than regular chips ahoy, and much cheaper!

#2. F&E is much smaller than Vons, where I used to shop. At F&E, if I forget something, I don't have to trek past hundreds of items that I never buy to get to the one that I need. It's selection is smaller but they still carry everything that I need and at good prices.

#3. At their kitchen table they sample items that I've never tried before. Like their fresh mango salsa. Last night, I used this to make burrito's with the fresh talapia that was on sale, along with the spanish rice that is made fresh everyday. I topped it with fresh cilantro and put it all on a great F&E burrito tortilla. It made for a quick healthy meal, that was not the same old thing we have every week at home. And I could go on and on with this list, but trust me I've made some great fun healthy meals for my family with the help of F&E.

#4. I can't go without mentioning the amazing bakery selection. No more neon colored cupcakes to tempt my kids into eating poorly. Some items to check out are the gourmet chocolate cupcakes, tiramisu, chocolate lava cakes. These desserts are so good and so rich, that I've taken to buying them when we have guests over. I've buy a few desserts and cut them up into smaller pieces so that everyone can have a taste to satisfy their sweet tooth. And this isn't short changing anyone, because the sizes are big enough that a little goes a long way to satisfy everyone. After all, we are watching our waist lines and trying to stay healthy too.

#5. Lastly, I LOVE THE SELF CHECKOUT AND THE REUSABLE BAGS.
