fresh&easy, radiohead, and the hollywood bowl
I had the privilege last Sunday of seeing Radiohead at the Hollywood Bowl.
What an amazing performance!
They sounded just as fresh as ever, their recent material every bit as good as before.
What really struck me was just how different they are to everybody else. They have familiar elements of a rock band, but they put it all together in new and surprising ways. They're impossible to categorize.
In our own small way, that's what customers say about us.
We have the quality and interesting selection of a speciality market, but also the brands and convenience of a supermarket. And the prices of a big box retailer..!
Take our assisted checkouts. They look familiar - a combination of self-service and belted checkouts, as you'd find in many supermarkets. Yet they're open all the time, you can use both types by yourself, or we'll do it for you, or we'll work together. The end result is a whole new checkout experience, achieving higher levels of customer satisfaction than we've ever seen before.
As for Radiohead, it reinforced my view that Thom Yorke is a genius...my ipod has been playing them ever since.
It was a night that exceeded my expectations. And that, surely, is how it should be.....

Your analogy of F&E to Radiohead may be a bit of a stretch. But I commend you on your taste of music.
F&E's prepared meals are also quite tasty. The Chili bowl however, not so much.
that's sort of a weird connection - radiohead and fresh & easy - but okay. whatever works for you!
radiohead was incredible, the best concert i have ever been to, and yes, thom yorke is a genius.
and i like fresh & easy, too.
I saw them at the Santa Barbara Bowl a few years ago. Seeing them at one of the Bowl shows is always a pleasant experience. I highly recommend seeing them at the Santa Barbara Bowl with the ocean in the background. Intense. '
When is the Yucaipa Fresh and easy opening?
Two of my fav things...Radiohead and F&E. Touché.
you should figure out a way to play radiohead or other such music in fne.
the music we play (celine dion. 4 in a row. come on!) is the only thing that drives me crazy when i come into work everyday.
i agree with what the person above. if we played some better music it would make work 100 times more enjoyable. hearing enrique eglacias twice in one day is enough to drive anyone mad. with our store being so unique and different it seems fitting that we should play music that you wouldn't hear at every other grocery store. i know its hard to please the wide demographic of people that visit the store but i think people might enjoy something different. i think the small restaurant Chipotle is a good example. every time i go in there, they have something interesting playing that really makes the atmosphere different.
